Everyone at Chairmen’s RoundTable is dedicated to helping make your business or non-profit more relevant and profitable. To make it easier, we’re happy to provide you with this list of 12 things that any organization must do to be successful.

1. Solve a Real Problem. Offer a product or service that meets a genuine need or desire. If your business doesn’t solve a problem for someone, it’s unlikely to thrive.

2. Know Your Audience. Clearly identify and understand your ideal customers — who they are, what they want, and how they behave. Tailoring your offerings to a specific audience increases relevance and engagement.

3. Deliver Value Consistently. Provide products, services, or experiences that are worth more than what customers pay. High value keeps people coming back and encourages referrals.

4. Create a Unique Brand. Develop a clear, memorable identity that stands out in the marketplace.
Branding includes your name, logo, messaging, tone, and how customers feel about you.

5. Focus on Customer Experience. Make every interaction easy, pleasant, and helpful.
Satisfied customers are loyal customers—and they’re more likely to recommend you to others.

6. Build a Strong Team. Hire and retain people who are skilled, motivated, and aligned with your mission.
Success depends heavily on having the right people in the right roles.

7. Manage Finances Wisely. Track income, expenses, and cash flow carefully—and plan for taxes, investments, and growth. Poor financial management sinks good ideas.

8. Market Effectively. Promote your business with a smart mix of strategies (online, offline, social, email, etc.) that reach the right people. You can’t grow if nobody knows you exist.

9. Adapt and Innovate. Stay flexible, watch trends, and be willing to change when necessary.
Markets shift. Competitors move. Adaptability keeps you ahead.

10. Use Data to Drive Decisions. Track key metrics (sales, customer behavior, traffic, etc.) and let that info guide your strategy. Guessing is risky. Data gives clarity.

11. Maintain Operational Efficiency. Streamline processes to minimize waste, maximize output, and keep quality high.
Efficient systems save time and money.

12. Stay Legally and Ethically Compliant. Follow all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in your industry.
A good reputation is priceless. One legal slip-up can ruin everything.

Yes, we know this all sounds like common sense, and if you’re already doing all these things, GREAT! You’re well on your way towards increased success. But if you’re not currently doing all these things, consider this a gentle reminder.
