Team PlastAid - A CRT Success Story

A while back, Team PlastAid came to Chairmen’s RoundTable looking for suggestions on how to improve their pitch in the global competition of young entrepreneurs. Having developed a strategy for revolutionizing the carbon credits landscape through a microbial solution which allows for plastic recycling in an easy and efficient way, they felt they were really on to something.

TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) obviously felt the same way, awarding Team PlastAid second place (and a nice healthy check) for their efforts.

TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) is a Global initiative to inspire, challenge and empower students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs, business, and community leaders. The program has 15,000 members in 61 chapters being run in 30+ cities in 14 countries around the world. Seasoned entrepreneurs and mentors teach high school students a project-based curriculum that has a strong emphasis on design thinking and customer validation.

“While this isn’t a typical CRT client, our mentors agreed there was a huge opportunity to contribute to both the present and future business community of San Diego. Several of them pitched in to provide a bit of free advice, and we’re thrilled to have been part of the process,” says Dan Gatti, who oversaw the onboarding process of Team PlastAid as a client.
